Autogrill & WWF project is part of the European Week for Waste Reduction

he experimental project of integrated organic waste management, developed by Autogrill, in partnership with WWF, at Villoresi Est service station is one of the actions of the European Week for Waste Reduction.

Launched within the framework of the One Planet Food programme, the initiative envisages the recovery of organic waste generated by the Villoresi Est and its transformation into compost to feed the educational garden at Oasi WWF Bosco di Vanzago.

European Week for Waste Reduction

The European Week for Waste Reduction, which this year takes place 22 to 30 November 2014, is the widest information campaign at European level, concerning the impact of our lifestyles and consumption on the environment and climate change.

The goal of each edition of the Week is the involvement of citizens, institutions and businesses, in specific initiatives on issues regarding environmental sustainability.

Fight against food waste is the theme around which are organized the actions of 2014 edition.

This year, actions were carried out in Italy for more than 400 different project developers in all 20 Italian regions, with Lombardy that achieves the highest number of shares, followed by Piedmont.
