Terrazza Aperol Opening Party

Autogrill has inaugurated, in collaboration with Campari Group, a new location with a unique view of the steeples of Milan’s cathedral

[gallery] The special evening event blended the tradition of an historical building with the "easy going" attitude of Aperol Spritz, the trendy aperitif of the moment.

In the foyer of the Autogrill store leading to the Terrazza Aperol there was a photography exhibition curated by the Milan photographer Marco Garofalo, with images of major transformations that the cultural and economic centre of the city underwent during the last century. The Terrazza’s interiors, designed by Antonio Piciulo, provided the ideal backdrop for a mapping show put on by a number of young Milan artists, filling the space with a light show expressing the quintessential Aperol Spritz mood.

The menu was devised by Davide Scabin, one of Italy’s most talented chefs, having two Michelin Stars and three Gambero Rosso magazine Forks.

The evening’s animation included a concert-show by The Rock and Roll Circus Experience, an indie-glam project grouping exponents of indie rock in Milan in the 2000s, and a DJ set by Andrea Pellizzari, radio speaker and well-known celebrity from the TV programme Le IENE.

The exclusive location reflects the easy going nature of today’s aperitif, trendy, a showcase for a lively crowd, dynamic, eclectic and international that lives Lombardy’s capital.

Open from 11 in the morning to midnight and on Saturdays until 1:00 a.m., Terrazza Aperol serves a vast range of aperitifs and cocktails, as well as a lunch menu full of local and international dishes, to be enjoyed in a magnificent lounge overlooking one of Italy’s most beautiful squares.
